To the Editor:

While only six months into his first term as our State Senator, Jim Holperin has been quick to respond to the needs of his district.

Over the last month, Sen. Holperin listened carefully to concerns raised regarding a proposal that would have threatened Wisconsin’s liability laws, hence negatively affecting recruitment and retention of physicians in Wisconsin.

Sen. Holperin helped ensure that the state’s liability climate wasn’t altered to damage healthcare access in the 12th Senate District.

In addition, Sen. Holperin joined a group of legislators urging the Governor to veto language related to medical records. The language, which would have increased the cost of healthcare and could have compromised federal health privacy law (HIPAA), was indeed partially-vetoed by the Governor.

We thank Sen. Holperin for listening to the concerns of healthcare, and for thoughtfully representing his district.
