The shop til’ you drop Redikulus Dae event in downtown Rhinelander has been going on for more than 25 years, with merchants hauling out their biggest bargains for a one-day street sale. This year is no exception.
The street sale is known as Redikulus Dae and will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 6, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. in historic downtown Rhinelander.
Stores will be offering shoes, sporting goods, clothing, books, furniture, antiques, crafts, gifts and house wares, and more at the lowest prices of the season. The Main Street organization, Downtown Rhinelander Inc., is coordinating the street sale event that features concessions, vendors, games and new this year an entertainment stage for the young and young at heart.
Redikulus Dae, an annual retail event has been a part of downtown’s tradition for years. The promotions committee encourages all participants to dress up in a crazy costume or hat this year.

A Cut Above, American Red Cross, Anytime Fitness, Athlete’s Foot, Book World, Brown Street Bakery & Deli, Brown Street Books, Brown Street Brewery & Bugsy’s, Carpetiers, Danner Shoes, DCI Kitchen Design, DeByles Carhart Outlet, Diane’s Frame Shoppe and Northstand Distribution, Enterprise Wood Products Showroom, Forth Floral, Frontier Communications and Fun Factory.
Other participants are JoAnne’s Music Studio, Julie’s Book Korner, Karen’s Quilt Corner, KC Menagerie, Lattitudes, The Mane Flair, Matt’s Custom Framing, Mel’s Trading Post, Pat’s Tavern & Grille, Peggy’s Emporium, Shorty’s Hodag Beast-ro, Trig’s Floral and Zion Lutheran Church and School.
Other downtown businesses that are supporting the publicity costs of Redikulus Dae include Jake’s Tat-2ing, Attorney Richard Shawl, Subway and The Chatterbox.
